We have ranked 96 venture-backed open source software companies using the Momentum Index. Sourceforge lists over 260,000 open source projects. We reviewed about 200 companies in total. We elected to focus a separate release on the open source content management space and thus have excluded some companies from the ranking. When companies combine open source with freemium pricing models, we see strong early proof of traction. |
