We see a few interesting trends in the travel business. We see mobile starting to make big in-roads with companies like Hipmunk and HotelTonight. There are a number of companies doing collaborative consumption with Airbnb making the largest waves and getting all the attention, but Benchmark also just invested in Couchsurfing, which now re-launches with 3 million customers and a loved brand.
Finally, since travel is by nature global, some of the most exciting companies are outside the US, with Quanar.com (China) and ViaWorld.in catching our eye. |
