    No Puppet Labs or Opscode?

What data are you analyzing for this?

Makes the whole index suspect imho.

One of the biggest challenges is categorization of companies to correctly get them into the right lists. We scan top level textual descriptions for keywords as one technique to identify companies. Unfortunately we missed Opscode and Puppet Labs in this run and did not identify anything related to open source in our process. I will tag them as open source and be sure they make the next run.

In the meantime both companies were rated and would have appeared near 30 on this list if we had identified them.

      Puppet Labs: 44.8

      Opscode: 47.5

      Thanks for the heads up.

No mention of DataStax (Cassandra), dotCloud, or AppFog.  I’d recommend you include them.

All three have been tagged into the open source category.   Their current index is below.

      DataStax:   48.8
      AppFog:  36.0
      dotCloud: 31.8

      Thanks for the heads up.

Eh… Why would you include Participatory Culture Foundation (a non-profit) but not Mozilla Foundation? With their 1bn USD deal, Mozilla would easily top this list.

Well that was just a plain mistake on our part. Non-profits should not be included in the lists. We removed Participatory Culture Foundation from this list and from our active DB of companies. Thanks for helping us improve this data.
